Responsible VEndor Training (RVT)
We have more cannabis industry experience than any other Responsible Vendor Training provider in Colorado and Illinois. Why does this matter? Our training is compliance-focused, emphasizing public health and safety and risk mitigation. We cite the regulation and provide context around the WHY to help learners retain information more efficiently and recite the information more effectively.

Colorado Department of Revenue Marijuana Enforcement Division, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
To be designated a Responsible Vendor in Colorado, a dispensary must have all owners, managers, and employees complete the training and obtain a certificate of completion after passing a final exam. If an owner does not handle or transfer cannabis in the dispensary, then they do not have to take the training.
All owners, managers, and employees operating under a Colorado Delivery permit and or a Hospitality Establishment license must complete RVT within their first 90 days of hire. Dispensaries that do not have delivery can still complete RVT but it’s a great way to show the MED your intent to comply and take advantage of the mitigating factor.
-
New in 2022: Colorado HB 22-1222 was signed into law on April 21st, 2022.
This bill allows the mitigating factor to be applied to the business license holder and the employee license holder.
It also allows employees with a valid certificate of completion from an RVT provider to attach the certificate to their resumé.
What these new rules mean for stores is now, they don’t have to re-train employees within their first 90 days of hire if the employee already has a valid certificate of completion.

Training + Development Services
The cannabis industry is evolving and maturing every year. Federal legalization is just around the corner and has been for the past 10 years, LOL. But seriously, we know it’s coming. With federal legalization comes standardization; cGMP, cGAP, cGDP, ASTM, ISO, and the list goes on and on. If you don’t know what those stand for, it’s probably a good indication you need help with positioning your company for success and sustainability in the future.

The first step in the process to get ready for these acronyms is training. We’ve found the best way to develop training and then disseminate that training to your staff. All online, all digital, interactive, and trackable with 100% control of your intellectual property, your secret sauce. Essentially, we help get your business out of your head and into a format that is scalable and applicable to state regulations.
We’ve heard time and time again from clients why they don’t have a training program. They don’t trust their employees to not steal their IP, they don’t have time to develop training, turn-over is too high so it’s never been worth it. To be honest, the lack of training is why the majority of cannabis businesses fail. They fail at customer service, compliance, and being able to scale operations to the next level, or, they fail at creating a culture that is inclusive and positive for all employees. Lack of communication and training go hand in hand.
With our years and years of experience, you can trust we can evaluate processes and procedures quickly and efficiently - eliminating the extra time it may take with other consultants who are great at copywriting, but have no cannabis experience. Paper training manuals are so 2008.
The platform we partnered with will give you 100% control and ownership of all your SOPs in a manner that can be replicated and scaled to other markets. You can then sell access to intellectual property SOPs to other license holders in a licensing deal for your brand(s) and maintain control with trackable and traceable access to your licensing partners.
This training development service adds considerable value to any existing or potential licensed cultivation, manufacturing, or dispensary facility by establishing a tangible asset that could be sold to an acquisition company or sold as a licensing deal in other markets.

First, we give you access to our existing compliance training modules that will cover everything in our compliance SOPs. You’ll also have PDF versions of those compliance SOPs to keep in your compliance binder to show inspectors or investigators. They are set to your state’s regulations and cited so that you know you’re covered for what the state requires you to have.
A training certificate will go with each employee that completes our compliance training so you can prove they went through the training and passed the test with an 80% or better.
Then, we can either digitize your existing SOPs with our authoring tool that creates an interactive SOP that covers all your IP. Or, if you don’t have SOPs, we can help develop SOPs that cover your IP and put them in a format that you can train your employees with, at scale.

For clients outside Colorado, we can do the exact same thing (see above tabs) for you and your brands. Either your state requires annual training for your staff by a third party, which we use our compliance training modules to help you stay compliant with those training requirements, or they will require training at some point in the near future.
