For Colorado - The required minimum duration of training is 2 hours from the Colorado MED. This training will take brand new employees to the industry in 2.5 to 3 hours. Experienced employees or management will complete the course in 2 hours. The 2-hour duration is a requirement. Employees will have three weeks to finish starting from the date they sign in to access the training course.
For Illinois - The live webinar is scheduled to take 3 to 4 hours and does count toward your 8 hours of required annual training.

For Colorado - All dispensary staff, management, or owners, that partake in cannabis or cannabis product sales or daily operations within the limited access areas or restricted access areas of the dispensary. It is required training for all Hospitality Establishment License holders and or Dispensary Delivery Permit holders.
For Illinois - Responsible Vendor Training is required for all dispensary staff, annually. Konopé Compliance is an approved training provider, certified by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.

For Colorado - As long as the employee has taken the course while working for your company and they do not leave to go work for another company that does not share common ownership, they retake the training every 2 years.
**Remember, if you hire a new employee, they have 90 days to complete the RVT course while employed with your company. A certificate of completion will say what company they worked for when taking the training which is why it's important to get them certified under your license/common ownership.

The Responsible Vendor Training Course is approved by the State of Colorado's Marijuana Enforcement Division and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and is only accredited to designate Colorado dispensary licensees as Responsible Vendors In Illinois, the training program is approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Profession Regulation.

For Colorado - The short answer is yes. You will always benefit from more education, and this course will give a new employee a crash course on cannabis sales in Colorado. The long answer is no; you may not be hired simply because you have already taken this course. That is because, once you are hired, the company will need to get you trained again to keep their Responsible Vendor Designation. However, if they see you have taken this course before, they may see you as a better fit for their team. This of it as a way to get some experience without having any experience.
For Illinois - Yes you can absolutely take this training to help you get a leg up over the competition for a job at a dispensary. It shows initiative, and the ability to understand the states cannabis employee regulations. All good things if you take this before getting hired at a dispensary.
