Why Konope?
Hello and welcome to the blog! Needless to say, this is one of the scariest things I have ever done. But, none the less, you are here, and so I am, so let's get to creating some content and hoping it connects with some of you!
My maternal grandfather was from Czechoslovakia, he migrated to the United States by way of Austria during WWI with his family. I don't know much about him, he died when I was two or three. When thinking of what to call my company, what to call the website, I Google Translated a dozen or so different languages' for a different way of saying cannabis. Konope is Hemp or Cannabis in Slovak. My grandfather spoke Slovak. There is also konopa which is more like weed or pot in English, referring more to the cannabis we have all come to know and love. Cannabis in Czech is konopi, and there is also konopja in Slovenian.
I am fascinated by our past, history intrigues me. So much so that I wanted my company name to have a connection with my past and to my future. Through Konopé Compliance I hope that I can help as many people as possible and make a difference in the cannabis community.
A need for a compliance expert or a compliance department is more prevalent than ever new or existing cannabis businesses. New applications in other states are asking if you have ever held a cannabis license before, even in another state, as well as if those licenses are in good standing with the state that issued them. Mess up in Colorado, California wants to know about it before you open your business, and if the violation is too severe in California's regulators eye's, then you may not be able to operate in California, or any other state you would like to expand to because of a violation in Colorado that you could have avoided.
Creating a culture of compliance is what I aim to do with any client I work with. You have to have good employees, they have to buy into following the rules and not cutting corners; otherwise, your license will be at risk as well as the employees' state-issued badges that allow them to have jobs.
If you made it this far, congratulations, you are probably family or a close friend. Thank you for your love and support. I could not do it without you all.
If you made it this far and you are not a family member or friend yet, and you would like to talk more, please use the contact us page on our website, and we will be in touch shortly.
Have a wonderful rest of your day and thank you for reading.
